Adventureland
Adventureland is Long Island's family amusement park — local, scaled for kids 4-12, summer-season only (April-October). Less intimidating than Six Flags, less of a logistical project than going to Coney Island, just the right size for a half-day with younger kids.
Adventureland is the family amusement park for Long Island parents who don’t want to deal with Six Flags or Coney Island. Scaled for the under-12 crowd, summer-season operation, free parking, walkable in a half day.
Practical:
- Open: April-October (varies by year, check schedule)
- Pricing: $55-65 wristband (all-day unlimited) — best value if kids will ride 5+ times
- Best time: Tuesday afternoons (shortest lines), Sunday mornings (cooler, less crowded)
- Age sweet spot: 4-12. Teens get bored; toddlers might not make the height cutoffs on top rides.
- Food: Carnival food. Eat first or after, not during. Cash + card both work.
- Outdoor: no rain plan. Check forecast before driving.
