Tanger Outlets Deer Park is the LIE Exit 53 retail destination — 80+ stores, but more usefully for our purposes, the central plaza hosts food truck weekends, bounce-house family events, summer kickoff weekends, and seasonal carnival programming.
Tanger Outlets Deer Park is what most malls aren’t — an open-air format with a real central plaza that’s been deliberately programmed for community events. Memorial Day, Fourth of July, summer kickoffs, fall festivals, holiday tree-lighting all happen here.
What it’s good for:
- Family-friendly free events
- Food truck weekends (frequent in summer)
- Shopping + a free event in one trip
Practical:
- Free parking, lots of it
- North lot (Long Island Ave) for event weekends
- Bathrooms at central food court + north entrance
- Bring sunscreen on summer weekends — the central plaza is exposed
